The General Secretary of the Sports Writers’ Association of Ghana (SWAG),
Charles Osei-Assibey, has revealed that government has contacted the Association to release its clubhouse to be used as an isolation centre in the fight against the Covid-19 outbreak.
The ace-broadcaster spoke on behalf of SWAG on Happy FM’s discussion on the effects of Covid-19 on Ghana’s Sports industry.
When asked about SWAG’s contribution to the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic he said, “What I can say is that SWAG is also being engaged as part of the fight against Covid-19.
“We have been contacted by authorities to consider releasing our clubhouse to be used as an isolation centre for COVID-19 victims around Dansoman where the house is located.
“We are expecting them to write to us formally then we take it up to the General Council, he told Happy 98.9FM.
Ghana has recorded over 5,000 cases with 22 dead and 494 recoveries.
