Some delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Offinso South Constituency in the Ashanti Region have threatened mayhem in the upcoming parliamentary primaries should the party leadership allow one person to go unopposed.
They have gone as far as making a lamb sacrifice at the Offinso River to resist any attempts to impose a candidate on them.
The delegates say they are ready to support any of the aspirants who emerges victorious but will resist any attempt to impose a parliamentary candidate on them.
Together with some party sympathisers, the delegates marched from the Offinso township to the Offinso River, where they slaughtered a ram and performed some rituals to warn leadership of the party against imposing a parliamentary candidate on them.
The aggrieved group are against an alleged decision by a section of the party’s leadership to allow incumbent Member of Parliament Ben Abdallah Banda go unopposed in the upcoming parliamentary primaries on Saturday, June 20.
