Asante Kotoko defender Empem Dacosta strongly believes that his team mate Justice Blay is currently the best player in the Ghana Premier League.
Blay had been in inspired form for Kotoko before the coronavirus forced the suspension of the league. The defensive midfielder put in a string of excellent performances for the Porcupine Warriors and scored two goals during that period. Blay was awarded Asante Kotoko's player of the month award in January.
When asked about the best player in the league, Dacosta quickly mentioned Blay and described how key he was to the club's style.
“Without fear or favour, Justice Blay is the best player not only for Asante Kotoko but the Ghana Premier League. He is unmatched at that regista role. We mostly felt his absence in our games,” he told Kumasi-based Light FM.
Dacosta has had some issues of his own at the Kumasi-based club. After claiming a red card against Berekum Chelsea, his stint at the club had been under threat. He was close to joining Legon Cities on loan before the league's suspension.
