Co-owner of Ridge City Football Club and a board member of the Women's Premier League Committee, Cleopatra Nsiah Nketiah has complained about the problems women's football contend with.

In an exclusive interview with Ghsports.com, she divulged that women's football is not getting the level of attention it needs. She added that the lack of attention is going to be more in this era of COVID-19.

She mentioned that they were already having problems managing the clubs even in the absence of COVID-19. She espoused that the advent of COVID-19 is a threat to their livelihood.

She revealed that women football club owners are not rich and that, they are just trying to do their best to support the communities.

She stated that they always shared the little money they had with the players and volunteers in the club.

Ms. Nketiah made it known that, it is now difficult to support the clubs and players since their personal business have been dealt a hard blow as a result of COVID-19.

She stated that her club was not paying the players because they were not in the position to pay them, but anytime they came for training, they were given some stipend to cater for their transportation.

She added that they were supporting the players by paying their school fees and stationery for school.

According to the Ridge City Women's Football Club bankroller, the biggest challenge is the lack of financial support.

She added that, monitoring the players too is an arduous task and do not know what will happen after the COVID-19 pandemic.

She wondered when the league will resume. According to her, as regards the announcement the President made some weeks ago concerning the fact that football could not be played until the assessment of the situation after 31th July, 2020, It is very clear that, football will not return anytime soon
