Son of the Speaker of Parliament, Mike Oquaye Jnr., was mocked after Adwoa Safo was declared the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Dome-Kwabenya constituency.
Scores of supporters were heard chorusing “away” when the Ghana High Commissioner to India made an appearance at the coalition center after results were declared.
He was hurriedly escorted out of the premises by his entourage and some security personnel who ensured to keep him safe from further violent attacks from supporters of the victor.
Background
Adwoa Safo who doubles as the Deputy Majority Leader in Parliament won the elections with eight votes.
This is the second time Oquaye Jnr. and Adwoa Safo are facing off in the primaries having clashed in 2012 when Prof. Oquaye stepped down.
Adwoa Safo has now completed a double over the Dr. Oquaye.
