10 sub-Saharan African nations with most coronavirus cases

Just over 10,000 Coronavirus cases have now been reported in 52 of the 54 countries in Africa, according to the Africa Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (Africa CDC),

The 10 countries in sub-Saharan Africa with the largest number of COVID-19 infections are as follows:

South Africa is the hardest-hit country with 1,686 cases and 12 deaths, followed by Cameroon with 658 cases and nine deaths, Burkina Faso with 364 cases and 18 deaths, Ivory Coast with 323 cases and three deaths, Nigeria with 238 cases and five deaths, Senegal with 226 cases and two deaths, the Democratic Republic of Congo with 180 cases and 18 deaths, Kenya with 156 cases and six deaths, Guinea with 121 cases and no deaths, and Rwanda with 105 cases and no deaths, according to Africa CDC.

Since appearing in China last December, the novel coronavirus has spread to at least 184 countries and regions, with Europe being the worst-hit continent, according to figures compiled by the U.S.-based Johns Hopkins University.

Over 1.35 million cases have been reported worldwide, with the global death toll nearing 75,000, and more than 285,400 recoveries.
