13 Candidates file NPC elections

The National Paralympic Committee (NPC), Ghana last Friday closed nominations for its impending elections and congress, with ten candidates filling to compete for various positions.

Bishop Cornelius Adjah-Cofie, the incumbent president, was the only candidate who picked nominations forms and filed for the presidency with incumbent Francis Adjetey Sowah, also filing for the position of the vice president.

Adjetey Sowah will be competing with Eric Kussi, Alex Tettey and Richard Offei for the position of vice president.

A statement from the NPC and signed by Ignatius Elletey, General Secretary of the NPC said three candidates, Wilson Yaw Agbesi, John Kuuku Dsane and James Adjetey Adjei will vie for the position of the treasurer.

It added that, five candidates; Sulley Amadu, Elvis Kossi Alipui, Frederick Assor Joel Andam Quansah and Johnson Mahama will compete for the four executive slots.

The elections will be held on Thursday, March 12, at the Media Center of the Accra Sports Stadium.
