18-year-old boxer John Laryea signs first management contract with Sammy Anim

18-year-old Ghanaian boxer, John Laryea has begun a new phase of his professional career after sealing a management contract Sammy Anim Addo of Gyan Investments.

John Laryea who is popularly known as Expensive Boxer is a bantamweight boxer who has been tipped by connoisseurs of the game to become one of the best boxers the country has produced.

The highly-rated boxer trains with renowned boxing coach and promoter Carl Lokko at the Bronx Gym in Bukom and will by virtue of this deal be managed Sammy Anim Addo.

Speaking at the contract signing ceremony, the young boxer expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Sammy Anim for the opportunity and assured that he will work hard extremely hard to meet targets set for him.

“I want to thank God and Sammy Anim for this contract. It represents a huge step in my career and I’m very grateful. With this new contract, I can assure everyone that I will go forward and not relax on my laurel. I will work hard to achieve the goals set for me which is to become a world champion in my division”, he said.

The CEO of Gyan Investments, Sammy Anim Addo described the occasion as a historic one in the life of John Laryea. He said that John Laryea’s talent first caught his eyes during a sparring session with Emmanuel Tagoe who was then preparing for world title bout.

He indicated that Baby Jet Promotions are on a mission to recruit more boxing talents in the coming days.

Today is a special day in the life John Laryea. He chose to be a boxer and today will be a historic day in his life. We are here to throw out a signal to people out there that we are committed to the development of boxing. I became interested in John Laryea after watching him in a sparring session with Emmanuel Tagoe. We started this negotiations and today is the great day. All I want to say to the fans here is we should pray for John Laryea for what he has chosen to do.”, he said.

Sammy Anim also presented some boxing items to the young boxer and wished him luck in his fight on Saturday at the Asamoah Gyan Fight Night
