The 2017 edition of the Mc Dan Ga-Adangbe Unity Football tournament has been launched with a call on the various GA states to promote unity and peaceful coexistence.

The tournament which will see the 8 Ga Adamgbe state battle for honours is not only aimed at promoting unity but also to produce talents for the various national teams.

Speaking at the event which was held at the forecourt of the La Traditional Council, the Mankralo of La, Nii Obodai IV commended Mc Dan for the initiative which he believes will promote unity among the Ga states and also produce top talents from the community.

"Gas are very talented and skillful in sports and so such initiative will yield positive results. I salute McDan this initiative and his passion for the youth is unquestionable."

Head of marketing at McDan group, Obodai Sai who represented Dr Dan Mc Korley disclosed that the tournament is going to be an annual event and also urged the players to take advantage of opportunity offered by the tournament and sell their talent to the many scouts and journalists who are expected to cover the event from the start to the end. He opined that unity is essential to the development of any community hence the need for stability and oneness among the Ga people.

The tournament which is set to commence on the 23rd of October will see the winner pocket 2000 dollars whereas the runner up will get 1000 dollars.



There will also be prize packages for the tournament's best Player, best goalkeeper, best defender, best goalkeeper and well-behaved team.

The eight teams were presented with branded jerseys and mitre balls.

It was climaxed with a cultural dance and splendid jama display by the La Supporters Group.
