2018 AWCON: We exploited the weaknesses in the Ghana team – Mali coach

Mali coach Mohamed Saloum has lauded his team for capitalizing on the weakness of Ghana to secure a vital win.

Les Aiglonnes revived their campaign at the 2018 AWCON with a 2-1 win over the tournament hosts.

Goals from Bassira Toure and Aissata Traore proved enough to hand Mali the vital win and put Ghana on the edge of early elimination.

And coah Saloum revealed he studies the games of the Ghana team to identify their weaknesses and set up his team to exploit them.

“We watched Ghana’s previous game and noted a lot of their mistakes,” he said.

“And we prepared to capitalize on their mistakes and that is exactly we did to win the game.”

Mali now has to pick yet another win against Algeria in their final group game on Friday to progress to the semi finals.
