Black Stars head coach, Kwesi Appiah believes among the four nations representing Africa at the 2018 World Cup, Senegal has the best chance to go far and make a mark at the tournament.

The continent will be represented by Senegal, Nigeria, Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco and Kwesi Appiah is tipping the 2002 quarter-finalists to go furthest among the four countries.

Kwesi Appiah disclosed in an interview with Ghanaweb.com that he is optimistic about the chances of Senegal and tipped them to be the Africa team that will bring glory to the continent at the biggest football festival.

Kwesi Appiah feels that the star-studded side led by Liverpool winger Sadio Mane should be able to progress from their group and stake a claim at the semis.

“I believe all the teams can do very well but the team that I trust to go much further is Senegal. The reason is because they have a good players and all that matters is to get them to play as a team. The group is not that bad and I think they can go through easily”.

Kwesi Appiah also urged Alliou Cisse and his charges to aim beyond the preliminary stages of the tournament and aim at the ultimate, adding that approaching the tournament with such mentality will guarantee success.

“They (coaches and players) should sit down and say that we are going to win the tournament. Once they go into the tournament with that mentality, I believe they have a strong team capable of scoring goals and doing well”, He added.

Senegal are making their first appearance at the World Cup since 2002 where they finished in quarterfinals.

They find themselves in Group H alongside Poland, Colombia and Japan
