Columbus Crew right-back Harrison Afful has been excluded from coach Kwesi Appiah's 29- man provisional squad due to injury for the upcoming 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Afful has been on the sidelines after picking up an injury in April 2019 in Columbus Crew's defeat to Atlanta United in the MLS.
The 33- year old suffered from a fractured jaw when he collided with compatriot Jonathan Mensah and was taken off the field in the 27th minute of the game.
The former Asante Kotoko defender has been ruled for four to six weeks due to the injury.
He is still recuperating from his injury and head coach of the Black Stars Kwesi Appiah has excluded him from his list as he hopes to count on fit players for the tournament.
He was part of the Ghana squads for 2008, 2010, 2013, and 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
In 2018, he returned to the Ghana team for the first time and made two appearances in 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying as the Black Stars finalized a spot at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
