Liverpool Star, Sadio Mané hit a brace in his second game for Senegal at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament on Monday evening as they defeated Kenya 3-0 at the 30 June Stadium.
The Teranga Lions after winning their opening match against Tanzania in the absence of Sadio Mané went on to lose their second game against Algeria when he returned from suspension.
Knowing that a win in their final of the Group C will assure them qualification into the knockout stage, Senegal did the needful with the help of their talisman whose two goals inspired them to victory.
Kenya despite defending very well and frustrating the Senegalese, Ismaila Sarr finally found a way past them in the second half after Sadio Mané had wasted a penalty in the first half.
Nonetheless, the 2019 Champions league winner redeemed himself with a well-composed goal on the 71st minute to give his side a two-goal cushion. Just some 6 minutes later, the trickery winger was given another opportunity from the penalty spot which he converted to complete his brace.
The game eventually ended with Senegal thrashing Kenya by three goals to nothing. They have qualified to the next stage of the competition from group C together with Algeria who maintained a 100% record at the preliminary stage.
