Ghana Football Association Exective Council member, Nana Oduro Sarfo has revealed that some Black Star players have not received their winning bonus from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against South Africa and Sao Tome.
The doubleheader Afcon qualifiers were played in November 2019 with the Black Stars recording victories in those games.
According to the GFA Exco member, some players are yet to receive their winning bonus because the cheques given to them by the Ministry of Youth and Sports bounced, a situation the ministry is working hard to rectify.
“The winning bonuses for South Africa and Sao Tome games have been paid but there is a problem” “The Sports Ministry has a challenge. Cheques have been issued but there is a challenge"
But after saying all these in an interview with the Accra based Asempa FM, Oduro Sarfo couldn't reveal what the real challenge was.
“I can’t come and tell the public these challenges. The players have confirmed receiving these cheques but there is a challenge. Some of the players have been able to cash the money and others to haven’t”.
