Berekum Chelsea captain Zakaria Fuseini has rated the recently concluded Ghana Premier League campaign highly.

The 2023/24 domestic top-flight season came to an end two weeks ago, with Samartex emerging as winners followed by Accra Lions, while Berekum Chelsea and Aduana Stars completed the top four teams.

Meanwhile, Great Olympics, Bofoakwa Tano, and Real Tamale United were relegated to the Division ranks.

Speaking to Koforidua-based Bryt FM, the former Black Meteors defender asserted that the recently concluded league campaign stands out as one of the best we've had in the country.

"The just-ended Ghana Premier League is one of the most competitive seasons we've had. It stands out as one of the best, considering how we ended the season,"

"Besides Samartex, who won the league with some games to spare, the battles for relegation and the top four were keenly contested. We've had seasons where the relegated teams are known with games to spare. This time, it wasn't like that because all the clubs were poised to make an impact and also maintain their status in the top-flight. The battle for the top spot was also not an easy thing.

"Taking into account all of these variables, I will say we experienced one of the most competitive leagues in the country."

Zakaria Fuseini played a pivotal role as Berekum Chelsea finished second in the recently concluded season. He made 31 appearances and was rock-solid at the back for the Bibires.
