Hearts of Oak players celebrating a goal
Accra Hearts of Oak clinched a crucial 2-0 victory over Nations FC in their Ghana Premier League Week 32 encounter on Friday evening at the Accra Sports Stadium.
This win signifies a resurgence for Hearts, who were previously in 15th place with 38 points. Despite Nations FC's 4th place standing with 48 points and favouritism, they found it challenging to dominate the match.
Hearts established an early lead with Kassim Cisse netting a goal in the 10th minute, thanks to Dennis Korsah's assist. Hamza Issah expanded the lead to 2-0 in the 15th minute, providing Hearts with a solid advantage. Nations FC, despite several substitutions and efforts to reclaim control of the midfield, failed to penetrate Hearts' robust defence.
Significant substitutions were made during the game: Seidu Suraj, Yaw Amankwah Baafi, Enock Asubonteng, and Salifu Ibrahim were brought on for Accra Hearts of Oak.
Looking ahead, Hearts of Oak is set to compete against Accra Great Olympics, while Nations FC will take on Bechem United.
