Former Asante Kotoko coach Isaac Boateng, popularly known as Coach Opeele, has extended his best wishes to the opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), as they prepare for Ghana’s presidential and parliamentary elections set for tomorrow, December 7, 2024.
In a post on X, the former coach reflected on the stakes for the NDC and wondered how they would feel if they failed to win power again.
“I am wondering how it will feel to stay in opposition for another 4 years. Twelve years in opposition will be full of pain and anguish. The NDC has a lot to lose in this election. It's win or burst. I wish all my friends in the NDC good luck in tomorrow’s elections!” he posted.
Coach Opeele also speculated about the emotions within the ruling party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), as they face the possibility of losing power.
“I am wondering how it feels when you know you have 24 hours to leave power. I wonder how those political appointees feel now in Ghana—the power, positions, jobs, money, and influence all looking like they’re coming to an end. Eight years of pleasure depending on the Dec 7th elections. Life,” he wrote in another post.
