Nigerian sprinter Tobi Amusan missed out on the Women's 100m hurdles finals after finishing third in semi-final Heat 1 on Friday, August 9, 2024.
Amusan could not secure an automatic spot in the final in her heat after clocking a time of 12.55 seconds to place third.
The time was also not enough to earn her a spot in the final as one of the best times outside the top six, as she finished 9th overall in the semi-final ranking.
The 27-year-old's search for an Olympic medal continues as her season ends in heartbreak.
Tobi Amusan failing to make the final means there will be no African representative in the Women's 100m hurdles event slated to take place later today.
She was Nigeria's remaining medal hopeful on the track at the 2024 Olympics after the Men's 4x400m relay team got disqualified from participating in the final.
