Ghana defender Alexander Djiku has been ruled out of the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger due to injury.
The 30-year-old who plays for Fenerbahce in the Turkish Super Lig limped off in last night's game against Alanyaspor after picking up a thigh injury in the 61st minute.
Initial scans have revealed that the player picked up a Grade One strain in the front part of his right thigh (Quadriceps) and would need about 10-14 days to recover - making him unavailable for the qualifiers.
Alexander Djiku was part of Otto Addo's 23-man squad for Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
Djiku made his Ghana debut in October 2020 and has gone on to play 31 times for the Black Stars.
