The Black Stars hope of securing their first win of the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) was shuttered after being held to a stalemate by Niger.
Having suffered a 1-0 defeat against the Palancras Negras of Angola in their Group F opener at the Baba Yara Stadium last week Thursday, Ghana were hosted by Niger in the second group game.
With the stage at the Stade Municipal de Berkane, Alidu Seidu put the four-time African champions ahead in the 44th minute to end the first half 1-0.
However, after recess and with 10 minutes to go, Oumar Sako levelled the score for the Mena after a scramble in the Black Stars box. Niger, following their equaliser, held on to ensure the game ended 1-1.
The results leave Black Stars at the 3rd spot in Group F with just a point after two games played.
Ghana will now search for their first win when they come up against Sudan in a doubleheader in October in the Matchday three and four games.
