Niger have rescinded their decision to play their round five game in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Sudan in Morocco.
Niger who do not have a CAF-approved stadium for the game had initially chosen the Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat as their home venue but will now play at the Stade de Kegue following a decision by the Nigerien Football Federation.
Niger had already pitched camp in Morocco but have now moved camp to Lome where they will prepare for the game on Thursday, November 14, 2024.
Eisa Abobaker’s goal was the difference between them when the two sides met in the first round of qualifiers at the Juba Stadium in September 2024.
Sudan's head coach Kwasi Appiah who needs just a point to secure qualification to the AFCON in Morocco will be counting on his players to secure a favorable result when the two sides meet again on Thursday.
For Niger, this game would be one for pride as winning their remaining games will still not be enough to get them a ticket to Morocco as they have just one point from four matches.
