The head coach of Ghana, Otto Addo has stated that the Black Stars’ fate in the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament lies in their own hands.
After two matches into the qualifiers for the 2025 AFCON, the Ghana national team is without a win.
The Black Stars first lost 1-0 to Angola in Kumasi and drew 1-1 with Niger on Monday, September 9, 2024.
Speaking in his post-match interview after the Niger game, Coach Otto Addo said he is disappointed but believes all is not lost.
The coach is confident that Ghana’s qualification is alive and the Black Stars still have their fate in their own hands.
“We are not allowing too cheap goals. Like I said, I am disappointed; we didn't learn the lessons from the first game. Now it's a set piece, we are all back, we need to defend this better, this is for sure and like I said, I am really disappointed. But surely, it's still in our own hands,” Coach Otto Addo.
In the next round of the qualifiers, the Black Stars will take on Sudan in a double-header encounter in October.
