Following his outstanding performance against Akonangui FC in the CAF Confederations Cup campaign at Obuasi Len Clay stadium last Saturday, Ashantigold SC captain Shafiu Mumuni will be honoured to play for the Black Stars.
The hardworking attacker and proven goal scorer believes it will be an honour to wear the jersey of the senior national team and play.
Shafiu, speaking to Fox FM, noted how happy and honoured he will be when he finally lands in the camp of the senior national team.
“It will be an honour to be called. It’ll be a dream come true for me., Shafiu told Fox FM.
He added: “I’m praying to get that opportunity because it’s not just anyone that gets the chance to wear the Black Stars jersey.”
‘I’ll be very happy if Coach Kwasi Appiah calls me,” he added.
Shafiu hat trick against the Equatorial Guinean opponent powered the Miners to the Round One stage CAF Confederation Cup competition.
The first leg ended in 1-1 scoreline.
AshGold will face last edition’s finalists RS Berkane from Morocco next month.
