A Ghanaian Coach Is Capable.

The Appointment of KWASI APPIAH is a wise and bold decision. We must all support him and hope for success in the long term. This is a great time to be a BLACK STAR FAN. I'm now proud to be a Black Star Fan because i believe we can do it as Ghanaians. "...after all the black man is capable of handling his own affairs."

I have always knelt down each day, raise my head up and pray to Jah in the sky; praying and hoping that He would touch the heart, mind and wisdom of the authorities to stop depending on a foreign coach and look back home. We must believe that we can do it and we must domesticate most of our policies if Ghana must progress.

Well, as a nationalist, personally i can say that the appointment of Kwasi Appiah is a good news to me and i hope that the authorities will not make the mistake by terminating his appointment in the next one or two months even if he is not winning matches for now. Ghanaians must be patient and support him. Let's all understand that he cannot perform magic right now but believe that yes together with him we can do it as a nation.

The Ghana Amateur Football Association was founded in 1957, soon after the country's independence, and was affiliated to Confederation of African Football and FIFA the following year. Englishman George Ainsley was appointed coach of the national team.

In 1960 the Black Stars played Spanish giants Real Madrid, who were at the time Spanish, European and intercontinental champions, and drew 3–3.

Charles Kumi Gyamfi became coach in 1961, and Ghana won successive Africa Cup of Nations titles, in 1963 and 1965, and achieved their record win, 13–0 away to Kenya, shortly after the second of these. They also reached the final of the tournament in 1968 and 1970, losing 1–0 on each occasion, to DR Congo and Sudan respectively.

Their domination of this tournament earned the country the nickname of "the Brazil of Africa" in the 1960s. The Ghana Black Star has never won a tournament under any of the 'Kofi Brones' that Ghanaians revered a lot.
