AAG: Bomb kills eight soldiers in Algeria

Algiers, July 12, GNA - A BBC report monitored in Algiers said a suicide bomber had killed eight soldiers at a military barracks at Bouira, 120 kilometres east of Algiers as the 9th All Africa Games got underway in the Algerian capital, Algiers.

The report said the bomber detonated a bomb in a refrigerated truck loaded with explosives at a military barracks in the mountainous region of Kabylie.

It said the bomber also died in the explosion for which the North African wing of Al Qaeda claimed responsibility. Over 8,000 athletes from all over Africa have converged in Algiers to participate in the 9th All Africa Games 12 July 07
