The Accra Breweries Limited (ABL) at the weekend launched the 4th edition of the Stone and YFM pool tournament competition at the Silver Lounge in Accra Mall.
ABL seeks to promote pool sports and make it more exciting and attractive among Ghanaians, just like soccer and athletics, says Mr James Sarfo Boakye, Marketing Manager of the company.
He said the Pool Tournament competition is an annual event organised by ABL and Y107.9FM to whet the interest of sports fans to derive maximum satisfaction and more taste from its promotional brand, stone larger beer.
Mr Boakye said the next competition is scheduled to take place in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital, and the winner would be expected to take home a pool table, trophy, GH¢2,000 and souvenirs from ABL.
“Pool table games are not only fun, but also a form of exercise and they also foster social interaction. We hope to encourage the development and sustenance of this sport in Ghana,” he said.
