The Black Stars of Ghana will have to overcome the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the semi-finals at the Stade de Franceville not only for a ticket to the finals of 2017 Africa cup of Nations (AFCON) but also avenge their painful defeat almost a decade ago when the sides faced each other at the AFCON.
In 2008 when the two met in the tournament, at the same stage, Indomitable Lions won by a single goal, breaking the hearts of Ghanaians who were hoping to win the competition that was being played on their home soil.
The Black Stars are on a mission to end the 35-year trophy drought and will have to put in everything to edge pass the highly motivated Cameroonian side who are chasing a fifth AFCON trophy.
Cameroon surprised football pundits by knocking out tournament favourites Senegal on a 5-4 penalties after 120 minutes of gruelling action in the quarter finals while Ghana defeated the Leopards of DR Congo by 2-1 to book a place at the semi-finals.
Ahead of the game, some Ghanaians have expressed their expectations.
