AIK Solna could swoop for Derek Boateng in January

Swedish Allsvenskan side AIK Solna are planning to sign Ghana midfielder Derek Boateng is a failing to make the grades in the Spanish La Liga, GHANAsoccernet.com has learnt.

The 31-year-old will change club for the third time under a year after failing to earn playing time in the Spanish top-flight with Eibar.

According to close AIK insider Daniel Olsson, the Swedish giants are already planning to offer the former Fulham midfielder a deal to bring him back to Sweden.

The nomadic midfielder joined AIK eleven seasons ago and spent three seasons at the club before leaving to join Israeli Premier League side Beitar Jerusalem.

Boateng came close to making a return to AIK in the summer but talks broke down and he flew out to sign for Rayo Vallecano in Spain before leaving to join newly-promoted side Eibar.
