AFRICAN SPORTS KIDS FOUNDATION UNDER 13 FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT
KICKS OFF SATURDAY
The African Sports Kids (ASK)
Foundation, an NGO founded to support children who have football skills that
need to be developed will organize a special tournament from September 28 to
December 28, 2013 at the Kawukudi Park.
According to Mustapha Mohammed, CEO
of the ASK Foundation, the event is under the theme “sports for education” would
be for kids under 13 years of age and the 12 week competition open to other
communities would be an avenue of empowering the children to be disciplined,
respectful, bold and intelligent.
He said the major objective of the
ASK Foundation is to bridge the gap between those who have and those who do n
ot have but have the interest.
He noted that the tournament wll
create the platform for future stars to be identified abd groomed to become a
real classic suer star.
“We seek to remove all identifiable
barriers that stand in the way of the African kids and their sporting destinies.
Our foundation is the hope to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor and
we hope to guide the kids to reach their goals”.
He expressed that education is the
key to development and the children would be adviced most on education and how
to be civil.
Mustapha Mohammed who is most
passionate about children who do sports hinted that sports is a tool for many
good things and he will use sports to change his community to be better.
As part of the tourament, a clean up
exercise would be conducted in Nima to educate the children on volunteerism.
Mustapha Mohammed disclosed that a
lot of individuals, especially children have expressed interest in the
tournament which would be played on week ends and the Sports Writers
Association of Ghana (SWAG) have been invited as a partner to mobilise the
sports media to cover the event.
