AU Day for Africa Soccer Fever song

Accra, May 20, GNA - African Union Day celebration this year on May 25, has been given another impetus with the official launch of "Africa Soccer=

Fever song," by Ghanaian reggae artist Mr Rocky Dawuni, in preparation fo= r the World Cup 2010 in South Africa.

The song seeks to give soccer fans an African flavour and set the to= ne for linking Africa to the global souls and emotionally stir-up the passio= n for African blend of soccer.

Other tracks on the album include "Take It Slowly ," "Masterplan," "African Reggae Fever," and "Extraordinary Woman" which was the theme son= g of BBC for the "World Women's Day" celebration.

A statement to the Ghana News Agency said after the launch, Rocky Dawuni would perform a number of selected shows in late June and early Ju= ly in Europe, then to Ghana for his 10th Annual "Rocky Dawuni's Independence=

Splash" which was rescheduled for September 25. The album also seeks to tackle social issues with uplifting ballads and reggae rockers, pitch a stand against corruption, war and despair, while blending Motown horn lines with Afro-beat grooves and Arabic percussion. According to the statement, Mr Dawuni was also using the songs to dr= aw attention to social challenges: from infectious diseases, clean water to poverty across the rural communities of Ghana. reggae with contemporary African ingenuity.
