Black Queens Coach, Bashir Hayford
Hosts Ghana wrapped up preparations for the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations with a 1-0 win over South Africa over the weekend.
The exhibition match also opened the Accra Sports Stadium, which has been refurbished for the three-week tournament.
Black Queens’ coach Bashir Hayford says the performance of his team keep improving day-by-day as they prepare for the tournament.
“The performance is what we are after,” he indicated after the final preparatory game.
“You could see I think you clap and clap and clap during the match, for females playing like this is amazing and we going to work on them to improve more with the few days left.
“It is improvement by improvement by improvement. First match, second match and playing South Africa in this final match, our performances have really gone up and so we are progressing.
“And coming this Saturday you will see a different set of Black Queens when we open the game against Algeria with a different performance for everybody to cherish.”
The 11th edition of the Total Women’s Africa Cup of Nations starts on Saturday, November 17 with Ghana taking on Algeria.
The tournament ends on Saturday, December 1, 2018.
