Legend Abedi Ayew Pele says he is not interested in running for the Ghana Football Association presidency in 2019.
Incumbent Kwesi Nyantakyi has announced he will not seek re-election when his tenure comes to an end in two years time.
It is too early for prospective candidates to launch their bids but pundits expert a stern race for the job.
Abedi thinks there are knowledgeable people around to succeed Nyantakyi and expects ex-footballers to get involved.
''I think Nyantakyi has done his best and if he has got the courage to say he will not compete in 2019, it is a good one,'' the three-time African Footballer of Year told the media.
''I think there are competent people in Ghana who can take over the position.
''We don't lack intelligent people. I am not interested though but I think we have good and knowledgeable people in the game who can take over.
''I think is high time we allow ex-Footballers to take over the football administration, and allow the boxers to also take over boxing.''
