President of the Ghana National Supporter’s Union (GHANSU), Abraham Boakye, is urging the Ghana FA to allow new Black Stars Coach Avram Grant to pick his own assistant trainer, stating that Maxwell Konadu’s presence on the backroom staff did not help to curb the disciplinary problems in the senior national team during the Brazil 2014 World Cup.
“Maxwell Konadu was part of the backroom staff when the disciplinary problems hit the Black Stars in Brazil but he could do nothing to resolve it. Avram Grant must choose his own assistant, a neutral person to support him so they can together lay down the rules.
"If you can’t comply then you walk out. Konadu should coach one of the junior teams,” Mr. Boakye told Accra-based radio station Happy 98.9FM.
The Ghana FA and the Sports Ministry did not make an allocation for the payment of a new Assistant trainer, meaning that Avram Grant would have to pay his own assistant once he chooses to replace Maxwell Konadu.
