Ghana striker David Accam claims it has been difficult combining both club and national team duties, though he considers it an exciting challenge playing for the Black Stars.
The 24-year-old is expecting a call-up to play for the senior national team during the friendly matches against Senegal on March 28th and Mali on March 31st in France after his recent recovery from a groin injury.
“It’s an excitement. That’s your dream. You want to represent your country. Every time you have the call-up then of course you have to leave what you are doing and go back to your country and play for them,” Accam said.
“When you come back to your club side that’s where you have a contract. It’s difficult but sometimes that’s what you have to do playing for both country and club,” he added.
Accam returned to training with his Chicago Fire team-mates this week and is expecting to make his MLS debut against Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday.
