Turkish manager Can Vanli has predicted doom for Hearts of Oak should the current management continue to lead the club.

The former Turkey assistant coach is unhappy with the Accra-based side, having been overlooked in favour of Japanese trainer Kenichi Yatsuhashi.

“I am very disappointed because we helped Hearts to avoid relegation,” Vanli said in an interview.

“I had the opportunity to work with them and the expectation was to get the job for next season but that did not happen.

“When I came to Hearts of Oak, the management tried everything to stop me.

“They wanted to get rid of me and if this management are still at post, I’m very sure Hearts will be in the first division, I’m 200% sure.

“I’m very sad to say the club is still having this management at post.”

Vanli joined Hearts in August on a short-term deal as technical director, helping the club to avoid relegation after several weeks in the red zone.

He added: “I see new stories every time. I was at the second place of the list of candidates and I never saw a name of a coach from Japan on the list.

“I am very sad. Of course, I am also human and I’m disappointed. Now, I will like to wish Hearts and the new coach the best.”

The Phobians, who ended the season with a place above the relegation drop on the 13th spot, officially unveiled new coach Yatsuhashi on Monday.
