The 15th edition of the annual National Seniors Tennis Championship starts from November 23 to December 3 as action returns to the Accra Lawn Tennis Clubhouse.
The ten-day competition is expected to see juveniles and professionals take part in the event and will battle for honours in 10 events, comprising ladies singles (30 years and above), ladies doubles (30 years and above), men’s singles (30-39 years), men’s singles (40 to 49 years), men’s singles (50 to 59 years).
Others will compete in men’s singles (60 years and above), men’s doubles (40 to 49years), men’s doubles (50 to 59 years), men’s doubles (60 years and above) and mixed double (30 years and above).
The competition over the years has unearthed talents who have represented the country in various international tournaments.
Meanwhile, Tournament coordinator, Peter Annan, has hinted that this year’s competition will be keen.
“Registered members are training very hard because there are tough matches lined up for the tournament. For the categories, it will difficult but for the Professionals, there are special side attractions and winners will go home with GHC1000”, Annan told Starr Sports.
