Ghana goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey could make a return to the national team after his debut at new club Portland Timbers in the Major League Soccer on Sunday.

Kwarasey made history as the first goalkeeper of the team to keep a clean sheet in his debut match which ended in a goalless draw against Red Salt Lake at the Providence Park.

The former Stromsgodset captain had his debut delayed because of a hip injury he sustained during a training session two weeks ago.

Kwarasey left the Black Stars after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and openly rejected a call-up after publicly slamming the team’s goalkeeper coach for his “poor training methods.”

However, sources close to the 27-year-old say he is ready to reverse his decision following interventions from some football personalities in the country.

Kwarasey will now face competition from CD Mirandes goalkeeper Razak Brimah and AshGold’s Fatau Dauda at the Black Stars level.

The former Norway U21 guardian joined the Timbers in December 2014 after seven seasons at Stromsgodset.
