The President of Ghana Premier League side, New Edubiase United, Abdul Salam Yakubu has exclusively confirmed to Sportscrusader that, Togolese footballer Emmanuel Sheyi Adebayor has expressed interest in taking over the Bekwai-based club.
“Yes there is something like that in the pipeline. Adebayor and his consortium approached us and we are still in talks. We have decided to make them partners by selling a percentage of the club to them but we are yet to finalize the deal”, Salam said in an exclusive interview.
“As of now, the club is still in the hands of the old management. We are still waiting to finalize things”, he concluded.
The Bekwai-based club has produced national team products such as Abeiku Ainooson and Asiedu Attobrah and our checks have revealed that the Togolese is interested in taking over the club as a result of the pool of talent in the club and its location.
The Togolese’s interest in owning a club in Ghana spans from the love he has developed for the country as his peaceful home after being a Togolese. Adebayor owns estate houses in Ghana, precisely, East Legon, where most of Ghana’s superstar footballers reside.
