Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei has criticised the club's current captain Amos Frimpong for 'not being a good leader.'

According to Adjei, who recently parted ways with Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca, there is no proper organisation in Kotoko's setup whenever they line up against opponents.

"I don't see a leader in the Kotoko setup whenever they're playing," Adjei told Ashh FM.

"The players need a [good] leader to lead and control them on the field when playing games.

"I met a lot of mature and experienced players at Kotoko during our time so I was even scared to talk to them but they accepted us and helped us a lot. They taught us a lot and it really helped me in my development," he added.

Adjei also believes that Ghana football's Normalisation Committee must raise funds through sponsorship to aid clubs that will participate in Caf's inter-club competitions.

"The Normalization Committee should search for sponsorships for the teams and also make the welfare of the players a priority because the players deserve better," he said.

"I think football in Ghana will improve once there are good initiatives in place as well as proper checks and balances," he added.

Adjei won the Ghana Premier League title with Kotoko in 2008. He also won the Caf Champions League, Confederation Cup and Super Cup with Congolese giants T.P Mazembe.
