Ghana defender Harrison Afful has revealed that aside the technical direction from Avram Grant, the Black Stars will be relying on the experience and tips from South Africa-based pair, Awal Mohammed and Edwin Gyimah, to beat the Bafana Bafana on Tuesday.
Awal and Gyimah, who ply their trades with Maritzburg and Mpumalanga Black Aces respectively, are expected to be more familiar with the Bafana squad since it has 18 players who play in the South African PSL.
“We have a couple of players in the team (Black Stars) who play in South Africa and I think they are doing well in South Africa. They will share the experience they have with us, and we will move on,” Afful said at the pre-match presser.
Avram Grant’s side is in desperate need of a win over Shakes Mashaba’s side to progress to the quarter-final stage of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations after losing the opening Group C clash 2-1 to Senegal and recovering to beat Algeria 1-0, courtesy a late strike by Captain Asamoah Gyan.
