Defender Harrison Afful is delighted compatriot Emmanuel Clottey has joined him at Tunisia giants Esperance du Tunis. Clottey who has scored a tournament leading 12 goals in this year's CAF Champions' League is in Tunisian capital where he was unveiled after sealing a move to Esperance after Berekum Chelsea agreed a $1.5m deal.

And Afful who played alongside Clottey for the Black Stars last Sunday against Malawi, explains the striker will help fuel the Tunisian club's quest to win more silverware. “At Esperance, we are very determined to win the African Champions' League again, that's why the signing of Clottey is very important. “Every team will like to chase Emmanuel Clottey because he scores goals and football is all about goals. I have played with him and I know Emmanuel Clottey is a very good player. I am glad that he is joining us and he is very welcome,” Afful said.

The former Asante Kotoko defender is also offering a ready shoulder for his international teammate to lean on in the early days as he tries to settle in at the Tunis club.

He stated: “It’s definitely not going to be easy but having somebody like me around, is very good for Clottey. “I will help him to settle, we’ll talk, we’ll work together and all will be well. I know he won't have any problems getting used to the club and the city.
