Afful released to join Black Stars AFCON camp

Ghana defender Harrison Afful will miss Esperance’s league clash against Uriah Asante’s Gafsa on Sunday after being released to fly to Accra for Avram Grant’s first training session with the Black Stars on Monday, ahead of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

Afful will join the 30 invited players to fight for a spot in the 26-man squad that will leave for a 10-day camping in Seville, Spain on January 3rd.

The former Asante Kotoko player will be seeking to feature at his 4th AFCON tournament after representing Ghana at the continental championship in 2008, 2010 and 2013.
