Former national team coach, E.K. Afranie, has slammed the critics of Ghana coach, Avram Grant, describing their calls as “immature”.
Grant’s technical competence has been questioned after the Black Stars’ poor run of form, in the wake of their stalemate with the Cranes in a 2018 World Cup qualifier.
He said: “Firstly, his contract has not come to an end, so I see no reason why he should be sacked, it will be a waste of money to do so.
“He should be allowed to fulfill his mandate and afterwards, a decision can be made, we made the same mistake with former coach, Kwesi Appiah and, I don’t want that to be repeated.”
Grant faces an uphill task in his next match as he comes face-to-face with Egypt in the second match of the 2018 World Cup qualifier.
Meanwhile, the Stars have been handed a tough group in the 2017 Afcon draw as they renew their rivalry with the Pharaohs of Egypt, the Cranes of Uganda and the Eagles of Mali.
