African Football Summit 2012 Slated For South Africa

The organizers of African Football Executive Summit are delighted to announce that the 2012 edition of the event will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa, 18-19 APRIL 2012.

It is being organized in partnership with the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) as a strategic partner.

Themed “Driving New Investment, Good Business Practices & Technical Issues to Enhance Sustainable Development in African Football”, the 2012 Summit would highlight the need to focus on the need for investment in and the business side of football on the continent, professionalism in our local leagues. It would attract key panelists involved in higher football administration on the African continent.

It would also attract present and past African players to address key issues that affect the playing side of the coin and how real progress can be made towards the welfare of the playing body. There will be enhanced networking opportunities at the Summit as the event moves to the home of the first ever FIFA World Cup to take place on the African continent.

Event host Edward Abankwa of Pinnacle Sports & Events Management said: “We are delighted to welcome COSAFA as a key strategic partner for African Football Executive Summit 2012. Their extensive regional reach and qualified audience will help us to raise awareness, not only of our event, but of important African Football business issues, opportunities and challenges in general.”

The African Football Executive Summit initiated this year, was first held in Ghana. It showcases the vitality of African football, and provides the platform upon which the African football community shares knowledge, strategies, and best practices that stimulate new ideas and initiatives as the game on the continent grows in stature and takes its rightful place in the global sports arena.”

COSAFA, the acronym for Council of Southern Africa Football Associations was established by the Supreme Council of Sports in Africa – Zone 6. COSAFA is the governing body for football in the southern Africa region and is an affiliate of Confederation Africaine de Football (CAF) with 14 member countries – Angola, Botswana, Comores, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi,Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Associate Member Reunion. The organizers are elevated by this collaboration.
