Ghana defender Jerry Akaminko is set to return to light training next week, Footy-Ghana.com has gathered.
According to our well-placed sources, the Eskisehirspor centre half, who missed the 2014 World Cup due to a broken ankle, is recovering ahead of schedule, after being ruled out for a minimum of three months, and will start light jogging next week as part of his rehabilitation process.
Akaminko broke his ankle after landing awkwardly minutes before the end of a pre-World Cup friendly between Ghana and the Netherlands in Rotterdam in late May.
In a related development, footy-ghana.com has also gathered that despite the fact that Akaminko broke his ankle on national duty, the Ghana Football Association is yet to hand him any form of recompense, with Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan rather pledging to assist the Turkey based defender.
