UD Levante forward Emmanuel Boateng has been left out of Ghana's squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Kenya due to injury.
The 22-year-old is recuperating from a meniscus injury he picked during a pre-season friendly against English side Bournemouth last month.
The Ghanaian red-hot has stepped up his recovery process but will not be fit early enough for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Harambee Stars on September 8.
Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has been left with no choice after leaving the in-form forward in his 21-man squad for the qualifier.
Boateng has been sensational for the Spanish side, churning out impressive displays since joining.
He has been tipped as the new man to take over from iconic striker Asamoah Gyan in the national team.
