Akoto in a regretful mode

Ghanaian born Togolese international, Eric Akoto says he has some regrets about his decision to opt for Togo instead of Ghana.

Akoto told Joy Sports that he felt left out as the Black Stars excelled at the World Cup in Germany while his adopted country Togo were dismal in the three matches they played.

In the run up to their first ever World Cup appearance, Akoto and a few of the Hawks foreign based legion had some unhealthy skirmishes with the head coach Otto Pfister.

Akoto subsequently played only a few minutes at the World Cup, spending a greater chunk of the time warming the bench.
