Kumawood actor, Akwasi Boadi popularly known as Akrobeto is advocating transparency, fairness and honesty in the administration of football in the country.

According to the famed actor, the Anas expose’ that uncovered deep-rooted corruption in Ghana football provides an opportunity for the nation to turn around the dwindling fortunes of football and reclaim its status as a ‘football nation’.

He thus admonished football administrators, referees and footballers to embrace openness and eschew acts that will negatively impact football.

“Anas has given us all the results we need. Ghana football will move forward if we become transparent and treat everyone fairly. If it’s a penalty, you take, if it's not a penalty you let go. All these things destroy our football like dropping a player from a tournament team because he couldn’t pay a bribe. If we don’t do away with all these our football will struggle. But with openness and fairness, Ghana will bounce back”.

Akrobeto also intimidated that football in the country will be better off after the works of the FIFA Normalization Committee.

“It’s never too late for us. I believe that with the steps being taken now things will get better”.

Ghana football has been on ice since the airing of Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ number 12 documentary that captured key football officials and referees engaging in alleged acts of corruption and fraud.

The government has been adamant in its resolve to weed out corruption from football and is currently working with the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) to form a Normalization Committee that will steer the affairs of the Ghana Football Association in the interim.
