Ace sports journalist Bright Kankam Boadu has once again questioned the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, regarding his treatment of the players of the national amputee football team, Black Challenge.

Kankam Boadu has inquired whether the minister has demanded accountability from the Black Stars players who received monetary donations from the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

He also highlighted the support provided by Reverend Stephen Adom Kyei of the Believers Worship Centre to the players of the Black Challenge.

"They had to buy the jerseys at Kantamanto. Reverend Adom Kyei gave them GH¢100,000. You want them to render accounts? You are lucky we are on radio. Have you made accounts to anyone?

"When Bawumia donated to the Black Stars, did you ask them to render an account? When we were going for the AFCON and we asked you to bring the budget, did you do it? You should be ashamed of yourself. The sports minister must be sacked," he stated.

Minister Ussif explains his position on external donations

Ussif emphasized the need for the team to coordinate through the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS) before engaging with external entities.

"When you come after the successes and there's anything, the first point of call is this office [MoYS]. We're not going to tolerate you using the state for your personal benefits," he stated.

He further criticized the team's approach this year compared to the previous year. "Unlike last year, this time when you landed and you came here directly, this year you started going from one place to another without any records to the government who sponsored you, and that cannot be tolerated," Ussif added.

The Black Challenge recently triumphed over Morocco in the final, securing their second consecutive AFCON title.
