Outspoken football administrator Jonathan Abbey Pobee has asked President Akufo-Addo to come out and explain to Ghanaians what happened to the presidential project on the Black Stars participation in the Africa Cup of Nations.
According to the football guru, it will be prudent for the president to address the whole country on the outcome of the project he embarked on to end the country’s 37 years of AFCON trophy drought.
In an exclusive interview with Ghanacrusader Sports, Jonathan Abbey Pobee said the President also contributed to the mess which left the Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah only to do cleaning.
“The President himself must have come out to address the nation and tell us something because he said it was (AFCON 2019) a Presidential project. He took a plane to Egypt so he should even come out and explain things to us.”
“Even when Asiamah wanted to pay $10,000 which add up to $30,000 qualification bonus, the players told him that the old man [President] told us that he will give us $12,000 per game. So he [Sports Minister] was forced to pay the additional $6000 in Egypt and you can go and ask him,” he said.
